Corrosion and frayed cables after repeated exposure to damp conditions
Why it happens here
Rain and humidity can reach lower hardware through a worn weather seal or an exposed opening. Corrosion weakens metal surfaces over time, while a frayed cable can signal that the door is not lifting evenly. The problem may be more visible near the bottom of the door or cable drum.
Our approach
We inspect both lift cables, their routing, drums, and the door balance, then address the cause of uneven tension. We replace compromised cables rather than relying on lubrication to mask wear. We also check the bottom seal and alignment to reduce further exposure and confirm controlled movement.
